Men’s Mental Health
in Reading & London
Seeking support can feel unfamiliar.
Many men are used to managing difficulties privately — staying practical, staying busy, staying in control. When something shifts, it can be hard to know where to put the thoughts and feelings that follow.
I provide men’s mental health counselling in Reading and London, as well as online across the UK. Sessions offer a confidential and steady space to think clearly about what is happening and what needs attention.
When something feels out of balance
You may be experiencing:
Persistent stress or burnout
Irritability or anger
Low mood
Anxiety
Difficulty sleeping
Relationship strain
A sense that you are not functioning as you used to
Sometimes there is a clear trigger — redundancy, separation, fatherhood, health changes. Sometimes the shift is less obvious but equally real.
Counselling offers time to slow down and examine what is going on beneath the surface.
Pressure and expectations
Many men grow up with strong expectations about competence, control and resilience. Asking for help can feel like a failure rather than a sensible response.
Therapy is not about weakness. It is about understanding how you are affected by what has happened and deciding how you want to respond.
You do not need to arrive with the right language. We work from where you are.
Loss and identity
Men’s mental health is often linked to loss — loss of role, status, certainty, relationship or direction.
When something changes, identity can feel unsettled.
Who am I if I am not coping?
Who am I if I cannot fix this on my own?
Counselling provides space to reflect on these questions without judgement.
A confidential space
Sessions are 50 minutes and usually held weekly or bi-weekly.
I offer men’s mental health counselling in Reading and London, with online sessions available across the UK.
